Silverbank, Banchory.

It has been a bit of a slow start this year, probably beacause I've got a caravan and not a campervan, and I was limited due to the caravan being in storage for the winter. This is night No3 away touring. Great to be on the road again!

Incidentally, this is the first post I'm doing 'electronically' as I normally record my trips in a diary, so here goes...

The weather was fair, but a very chilly wind. Its forecast to be wet and unsettled this week, but looks better towards the weekend. I've booked 2 nights here in Banchory, then I've a few sites booked up north, finally arriving in Brora on the far north east coast. Nice site, if maybe a bit 'clubby'. Good value for such good facilities (for members anyway), £36.40 for me, my van, and the 2 mutts (free)for 2 nights.

Good dog walking on the banks of the River Dee which runs along the side of the site, getting there by a short walk along the site boundary.

The forecast looks like rain for a good part of tomorrow, so with a whole day here, will probably go for a longer walk in the grounds of the nearby Crathes Castle, or maybe one of the Forestry Commission sites nearby.

One noteable benefit at this site is it is literally 5 mins from a Tesco in one direction, and Morrisons in the other.

Quick gear review....first time I've used the most non-plastic feeling plastic cup ever! A wee gift from my brother, which was a prize for completing the gruelling Lakes 42 mountain ultra marathon at the weekend. Cheers!
